广告。但自今年夏季推出后，这一服务受到了异乎寻常的关注。
好几个国家的政府官员已经对其详细的政府办公机构、军事设施、其他重要设施图像提出了警告。法律严格限制使用卫星和空拍照片的印度表现得尤其“直言不讳”。
印度联邦科学和技术部部长V. S. Ramamurthy在谈到Google Earth时说，它会严重地威胁到国家的安全。印度的测绘局局长Maj. Gen. M. Gopal Rao则说，“他们(Google)应当先征询我们的意见。”
类似的观点已经出现在其他国家的新闻媒体上。韩国官员曾表示，他们担心Google Earth会泄露军事设施的秘密。泰国的国防官员说，他们计划要求Google封杀容易受到攻击的政府办公机构。
Itar-Tass 援引俄罗斯联邦安全局的分析师Lt. Gen. Leonid Sazhin的话表示，“恐怖分子不再需要对攻击目标进行侦察，有一家美国公司已经帮他们做了。”
但是，除了抗议外，他们似乎无计可施。Google Earth是网路世界日益开放的最新例子，过去保密的资讯可以被广泛地提供在个人电脑上。
